– Stars of Disney and Pixar’s upcoming original animation “Hoppers,” Piper Curda and Bobby Moynihan, ventured out to Ealing Beaver Project in Paradise Fields this morning as part of UK press activity ahead of the film’s cinema release this Friday, 6th March. The pair visited the West London community project for a tour of the site and to name one of the beaver kits ‘Mabel’ in honour of the film’s protagonist, voiced by Piper Curda.
The Ealing Beaver Project is a community initiative designed to reintroduce beavers to an urban setting, enhancing biodiversity and engaging the community in wildlife conservation. In October 2023, a family of Eurasian beavers was introduced to the site by the project and the Paradise Fields site is now home to 8 x beavers including Chewbacca, Woody, Willow, Chompy and newly named Mabel.
The visit to Ealing Beaver Project follows Sunday’s VIP Family screening at VUE West End which saw filmmakers Daniel Chong and Nicole Paradis Grindle in addition to voice cast members including Dave Franco and UK cameo Amanda Holden, come together to celebrate the release.
In Disney and Pixar’s all-new animated comedy adventure “Hoppers,” animal lover Mabel (voice of Piper Curda) seizes an opportunity to use a new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a life-like robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. As she uncovers mysteries in the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined, Mabel befriends charismatic beaver, King George (voice of Bobby Moynihan), and must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major, imminent human-threat: smooth-talking local mayor Jerry Generazzo (voice of Jon Hamm). The all-star voice ensemble also features Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco and Meryl Streep. “Hoppers” is directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle, with an original score by Mark Mothersbaugh.

HOPPERS opens exclusively in cinemas this Friday 6th March.
About the Ealing Beaver Project
This project is a collaboration between Ealing Wildlife Group, Citizen Zoo, Friends of Horsenden and Ealing Council, with support from Beaver Trust and Mayor of London. The aims of the project are to explore how beavers can alleviate flood risk on an urban river catchment, study the biodiversity benefits they can bring with a view to later reintroducing Water Voles on site and to capture the imaginations of urban communities by demonstrating the benefits of living alongside nature. We also want to learn and show stakeholders how to manage beavers in the urban context as wild, free-living populations expand in the UK and will inevitably begin to appear in our towns and cities over the coming years. The project is led by community groups and their volunteers, with all revenue currently coming from ecotourism and donations. If you would like to support the ongoing running costs of the project, you can donate on our website here: https://theealingbeaverproject.com/donate/
