This portable studio mirror is for teens who are interested in creating videos for Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat. It is an instant set up for #GRWM (Get Ready With Me) and tons of selfies.
We ran a teaser some while ago and now we have had the chance to have a closer look.
First off this is big as with a thin frame the mirror is the main thing and is some 35cm x 26cm. The stand is a simple fold out one that comes ready assembed.
Spaced around the frame are 9 LED dome lights. These are not removable. The lights have three settings which are white, natural and warm. In a simple touch the foam padding has nine indentions in it to make the transport even more safer.
On the back is a screw port and this holds the screw in holder for the mobile phone. This is quite a robust z shaped tube which culminates in a phone holder. If you don’t want to use this then the mirror can be used without it attached. It can come around either side depending on what setup you need. Because of the flexibility you should be able to find your best angle.
There is a USB port on the back as well towards the bottom. This is the power source and will be attached to a laptop/PC. A cable is provided.
The controls are within the front of the mirror itself at the base and these touch controls are a simple on/off as well as brightness and the three light settings mentioned above.
Also included is an optional base tray that will hold simple cosmetics and brushes – it is 2 cm high and 17cm deep though surprisingly curved. There’s a sticky #GRWM label to attach to the tray.
Aimed at the mid teen age range it will appeal to those who want to upload videos and give a more proffesional approach simply. These don’t need to be about beauty and this is your studio lighting assistant.
We found this to be a big step up from propping your phone up against a stack of books and trying to arrange an anglepoise lamp or similar. It is truly stable and with the touch controls set up in any location is pretty quick. The lighting settings also allow you to get a more natural setup and allow for the time of day.
They have given you the basics and now the creativity is down to you.

Although this is a make up mirror it is best not to be in areas of high humidity such as a bathroom.
The mirror needs to be cleaned with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
