From now on, travellers seeking adventure, spontaneous trips and short vacations will get their money’s worth with Eurowings: The Lufthansa Group’s value airline recently started offering the popular Blind Booking service again. With this flight offer, which has been popular in the past, travellers are surprised by their holiday destination. Customers do not find out where the journey will take them until after the booking has been completed. Interested parties enter the key data of their planned trip in the booking process. They can also exclude destinations in advance, for example if they have already travelled there. In principle, however, the more flexible the booking is, the cheaper the flight will be.
With the newly launched Blind Booking offer, Eurowings is expanding its product portfolio for a target group that is open to new things and likes to engage in unfamiliar (travel) experiences. Flights to the random destinations are offered in the BASIC fare from Germany, Austria, Sweden, and the Czech Republic and are available from as little as 44 euros (one-way).
Selection from seasonal theme categories
Travellers can choose from various categories and thus narrow down the surprise destination thematically. Depending on the season, different headings are available, a first selection includes the following:
- Europe Lies at your Feet
- Around the Corner
- Happiness is Coming to Shore
- Into the Wild
- Shop till you drop
- Work hard, play hard
- Pizza, Pasta & Amore
- Greek Feast
- Go East!
- Nordic Explorer
- Selfie Hotspots
- No Rain in Spain
- An Island in the Sun
- Concrete Jungles
- Christmas Markets
- Be a Snowbird
This is how the booking works
Flights via Blind Booking can be booked from one day to 42 days before departure via https://blindbooking.eurowings.com. After selecting the departure airport and the theme category, Eurowings customers are shown possible destinations, which – if desired – can also be deselected. In the next steps, the travel dates, including all details of the stay, can be entered. The minimum stay is 18 hours for one night, and 36 hours for two nights. In the next step, the interested passenger receives the final price. After payment, the surprise destination is displayed so that passengers have enough time to prepare for the trip. The booked flights cannot be rebooked or cancelled. Additional services such as additional checked baggage can still be booked afterwards.
