SEAFEAST – The Dorset Seafood Festival is back on the shores of Weymouth this September, taking place over the weekend of the 9th & 10th September 2023 at the Weymouth Peninsula.
The Festival, famed for its array of sustainably sourced seafood, local produce and fantastic wines and local beers, also raises money for the Fishermen’s Mission, a charity close to the heart’s of the Weymouth community. This year, the Festival aims to focus even more on ocean health, sustainable fishing and seafood, the local coastline and of course – insider chef knowledge on cooking seafood! With a range of top local chefs demo-ing throughout the weekend, daily fish auctions, seafood producers from across Dorset and the South, local Badger Beers and live music entertainment – there’s something for everyone at SEAFEAST.
Laura Avant, Festival Director commented: “We are so delighted to be planning SEAFEAST 2023 and to finally release the date, we have had an unprecedented amount of enquiries. We understand that people need to book accommodation in advance, so as not to miss out. We have foodies join us from as far afield as France and Canada. This year we are also working on a special ticket for our locals who have supported the event over the years. Seafood lovers can expect a host of local specialties such as garlic butter mussels, crab fries, grilled Portland lobster, Dorset Oysters, Lulworth Bank hand dived scallops and Thai yellow sea bass curry! Learn how to pick a crab, sample English sparkling wines, or join Hall & Woodhouse for a Badger Beer and local cheese pairing.
