The Delicious Festival Dolomiti is an annual trail-running weekend held in Cortina d’Ampezzo and Alta Badia
The race will take place on three routes through the heart of the Dolomites a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Short Trail of 22 km for 1300 metres of altitude difference, starts and finishes in Pocol/Cortina d’Ampezzo, and takes participants to the top of the Nuvolau. It can be run or walked. The Medium Delicious Trail is about 30 km and 1900 metres of positive altitude difference.
It starts from Alta Badia, in the parterre of the Gran Risa slope, known for hosting the Alpine Ski World Cup races, and finishing in Pocol/Cortina.
The Delicious Trail Dolomites itself is 43 km for 3100 metres of positive altitude difference, which winds its way through Pocol, Croda Da Lago, Cinque Torri, Nuvolau, Lagazuoi and Passo Falzarego. It is very technical in places and requires preparation and a knowledge of the mountains.
All three routes will see the mountain huts and restaurants along the way offering dishes cooked by local chefs including specialities from Ampezzo and Alta Badia, such as: Kaiserschmarren, a kind of sweet omelette sprinkled with icing sugar.
