The Emissary Prosecco

Although being around since at least the sixteenth century the sales of Prosecco skyrocketed in the UK from the turn of this century and it is an integral part of any celebration or summer party. You can buy a bottle pretty much anywhere and there are dozens of brands. One problem is that quality and taste has varied and wine lover Ed Smith made it his mission to go to the region and source the best that he could find. He stumbled upon a third-generation, family-owned vineyard near the village of Cornuda. It was here that he found his Eureka moment.

Created by Brit Ed Smith to cater to a new generation of wine drinkers and put premium prosecco firmly on the map, The Emissary prosecco is made for celebrating. The Emissary Asolo Prosecco Superiore Brut is elegant, rich and complex with extra fine, velvety bubbles. An effortless accompaniment to any Christmas Day celebration, the prosecco’s vibrant, zesty acidity and a subtle hint of sweetness balance gracefully on the palate. All of The Emissary’s proseccos are vegan and sustainably produced.

There is also The Emissary Prosecco DOC Rosé Treviso. This Rosé is crafted using a combination of 85% Glera and 15% Pinot Noir grapes.

Naturally we have sampled this superior offering, but sadly not the Rosé which sounds tremendous. A delicate colour with a crisp taste and fruity bouquet with a gentle aftertaste. Trust in Ed’s judgement to find the best for you and your guests.

The Prosecco can be ordered online and the DOCG brut comes in at £17.99, whilst the rose is a very strong value for money £14.99. Cases come in at £107.94 and £89.94 respectively (case of 6).
