One UK family will have their Christmas paid for this year, as part of a new national 12 Days of Christmas competition.
The competition, launched by budgeting experts Park Christmas Savings, will see one lucky winner given a £1,000 prize this December – to cover their festive spending.
To gain entry to the draw, Brits simply need to estimate how much the average UK household spends on Christmas.
People whose answers come within £100 of the right answer (either way), will get entered into the fantastic draw to win the cost of Christmas in gift cards.
As part of the competition, Park has partnered with money expert Alice Tapper, who operates the successful finance tips and tricks GoFundYourself Instagram page, to help explain why budgeting for the festive period is so important.
The competition will run for a total of 12 days, in homage to the iconic English Christmas carol, ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’, with 11 more winners getting the chance to get their hands on a variety of gift card prizes worth up to £350.
The competition starts today before finishing at 23:59 on Friday, December 9. To enter, simply visit the Park site here.
Winners will be drawn at random from qualifying responses in a series of draws between December 12 and Christmas Eve.
Park research published earlier this month revealed that almost half (42%) of Brits said they are worried about paying for Christmas 2022.
This number increases to almost three quarters (71%) among 18–24-year-olds, while more than four in ten (42%) Brits of all ages struggle to budget for Christmas each year.
Alice Tapper said: “I’m a firm believer that it’s never too soon to make a Christmas plan – but now more than ever. There’s no question that thinking ahead, saving early, and deciding on the kind of Christmas you want is the way to go when it comes to savvy financial planning.
“That’s why I’m thrilled to be working with Park Christmas Savings, helping people work out how to have an affordable and stress-free Christmas (without that January financial hangover many of us will be familiar with).”
Brits can now make Christmas budgeting easy – thanks to a simple new money calculator from Park that reveals how much they should be spending on presents for friends and family according to their personal circumstances.
