Spring Has Sprung and So Has the Pollen

‘But you can’t possibly have ‘Hay Fever’ as it isn’t summer’. Have you had that response to your swollen eyes and runny nose? Or possibly ‘They are not giving the pollen count on the news yet’. Unfortunately the spring round for some suffers is only too evident.

If your child is one of the unlucky 6 million people in the UK whose hay fever is triggered by tree pollen, spring can be a real misery. With birch, hazel, willow, alder and elm trees all wafting out their pollen at the same time, its effects can be overwhelming. However there is something you can do to help them cope with it all that traps the pollen before it gets in the body and starts to cause a reaction.

Many will recognise the characteristic symptoms of hay fever – sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery or streaming eyes, nasal congestion and a general stuffed up feeling in the nose and throat. Some will also experience itching around the face and mouth, including an itchy mouth, itchy palette, and an uncomfortable burning sensation in the throat.

Other symptoms can include headaches, wheezing and an overall achy feeling, or build up of pressure in the entire face area. The sinus area is often the most painful. Constant nose rubbing and blowing can also leave sufferers with skin irritation and sensitivity.

These debilitating symptoms are caused by an overreaction by the immune system to a harmless substance, such as tree pollen. Everyone can tolerate a certain amount of pollen in their bodies, but once this level is reached (called the ‘trigger’ level), an allergic reaction occurs.

HayMax Kids organic drug-free allergen barrier balm works by trapping pollen before it gets in the body. It is designed to trap all types of tree pollen. Just a small amount applied around the rim of the nostrils and the bones of the eyes (but not in the eye) can help. It’s backed up by science; HayMax has been proven to trap over 1/3 of pollen grains before they enter the body [1]. This can help keep the sufferer below their trigger level for longer. 80% of people say HayMax works [2]. 94% of people find HayMax quick to be effective; 44% said that it worked immediately and a further 35% said that it worked within an hour or two [2].

HayMax has been famously talked about by doctors in the media and it’s been used successfully by two Olympic athletes. It is 100% natural, cruelty free and has never been tested on animals. It carries the Vegetarian Society Approved vegetarian trademark and is certified organic by the Soil Association. It has also attained The Allergy Friendly Product Award from leading national patient charity Allergy UK, awarded to products that are potentially of benefit to people affected by allergy, asthma, or sensitivity and are unlikely to cause a reaction.

As HayMax is drug-free it is suitable for children and adults, including pregnant and breast-feeding women. There are no drowsy side-effects – so will not adversely affect performance at school, work, during exams or while taking part in sports or fitness activities.
